Warrensburg’s Home for
Big Skills & Even Bigger Smiles
Walk into Twisters on a Friday morning and you’ll hear it before you see it...a chorus of giggles, the thrum of tiny feet, the whoosh of a rope swing cutting across a sea of mats. It’s not just playtime. It’s the sound of a town raising its kids together.
What makes Warrensburg blessed to have Twisters isn’t only its size (a 35,000 sq. ft. indoor facility) or the long list of classes...though both are impressive. It’s the way this veteran-owned, family-run gym has built a place where confidence is coached, friendships form, and parents exhale. Twisters opened in 2013, and more than a decade later, the parking lot still fills because the mission never changed: fun first, skills always, community above everything.
Daytime Playtime: The Week’s Happiest Two Hours
Every Friday, 9–11 a.m., Twisters throws open the doors for Daytime Playtime—a drop-in, kid-led wonderland designed for toddlers and preschoolers. Think two bounce houses, a rope swing, trampolines (including a 20-foot!), bootcamp/obstacle setups, warped walls on school-out days, and full access to age-appropriate gymnastics stations. It’s structured enough to be safe, loose enough to let kids explore, and friendly enough that you’ll leave knowing another parent’s name.
Parents of multiple ages aren’t left out...on Thursdays, there’s School-Age Daytime Playtime (1–3 p.m.), perfect for bigger kids who still need to move, climb, and burn off energy.
More Than a Gym: Programs That Grow with Your Kid
Twisters has a lane for every kid and every season: gymnastics, tumbling, cheerleading, dance/hip-hop, and ninja warrior—from first cartwheel to competition-ready. And because life doesn’t stop at the gym door, the campus also features indoor batting cages and on-site event space—a one-stop hub for practices, birthday parties, and team nights. Families don’t just attend here; they organize life here.
Why People Travel for Twisters
Plenty of gyms teach skills. Twisters teaches belonging. The difference shows up in the details:
- A spacious, purpose-built facility that’s clean, comfortable (yes, free Wi-Fi for parents), and easy to access just off Hwy 50.
- Programming that meets families where they are— drop-ins, sessions, open gyms, camps and seasonal events that fit real schedules.
- A locally owned, veteran-led culture that treats every kid like “one of ours.” It’s why you hear, “we’ll be back next week” as often as “great job!”

In every great town, there’s at least one place that quietly holds childhood together. In Warrensburg, that place is Twisters. If you’ve been meaning to check it out, this is your nudge.
