This past weekend, we dove headfirst into BurgFest 2025, and y’all… it was everything I hoped for and more. Picture-perfect weather, the sweet smell of fair food wafting through the air, and the kind of energy that makes your cheeks hurt from smiling. Honestly, I think I’m still coming down from the sugar high. The boys? They were on a mission. Corn dogs, funnel cakes, nachos, cotton candy—you name it, they devoured it. I kept a close eye on quality control, of course, which basically meant sampling everything. Someone had to make sure those funnel cakes were up to snuff, right? Rides were conquered, games were dominated (or, in some cases, dramatically lost… but it’s fine), and somehow, between bites and screams of joy, I got to see the little magic moments Burg Fest is all about. The laughter of kids who just won their first stuffed animal, friends dancing in circles to live music, neighbors sharing corndogs and stories—it was a reminder that community is what makes an event like this truly unforgettable. And yes… there were tiny moments of chaos. The boys racing toward the cotton candy stand like it was the finish line of the Olympics, me trying to carry a bag full of fried cheese sticks without dropping one, and a very serious debate over whether funnel cakes are better with or without chocolate. Spoiler alert: chocolate won. By the end of the day, we were tired, sticky, and full of smiles (and snacks). But we left with hearts full, bellies full, and memories that will have us laughing for weeks. Burg Fest wasn’t just a festival—it was a reminder that sometimes, the best moments come from sugar, sun, and a town full of people who just get it. My favorite part? The makers. When you stop at a booth and chat with a small-business owner — like local favorites and creative brands, you’re supporting real people who care about their craft. We left with a heartfelt story as much as a purchase at each booth. So cheers to Burg Fest 2025: the rides, the food, the laughter, the chaos, and every perfect, silly, magical moment in between. Can’t wait to do it all again next year… and maybe sample a few more corndogs. -Kelsey |
