What the Colored Baskets MeanHalloween Inclusion Matters

If you’ve spotted teal, purple, or blue pumpkins or baskets this year, they’re more than just cute, they represent awareness, inclusion, and kindness.

A teal pumpkin means the child may have food allergies.

A blue or purple one often signals a child who’s on the autism spectrum or benefits from a sensory-friendly experience.

When you see these, offer a smile and patience. Maybe an alternative treat, or even just a kind word. These colors tell a story of families who still want to be part of the fun ...just in a way that fits their needs.

Small acts of understanding go further than you think.

This Halloween, let’s make our porches places of welcome. Whether you hand out teal pumpkin treats or simply slow down for each kid, you’re creating community.. one piece of candy (or sticker!) at a time.
