Kelsey’s Corner:

Local Love, the Kind That Holds Us Up

In a town like Warrensburg, Missouri, love doesn’t always show up with a bow on it. Sometimes it shows up as a warm drink slid across a counter, a familiar face behind the register, or a “How are you really?” that lands at just the right moment.

“Local love is choosing the places where someone knows your name—and your kids’ names too.”

What I’m Noticing Right Now

Winter has a way of shrinking our circles. We do the fast version of life: in and out, errands on autopilot, heads down. But this season is also when local businesses quietly do the most—fundraisers, free community boards, last-minute donations, and the kind of encouragement that doesn’t make headlines but absolutely changes a week for a family.shoplocal

A Simple LOCAL LOVE Challenge

  • Pick one locally owned stop this week—coffee, lunch, a treat, a small shop.
  • Leave one kind review online (a few sentences matter more than you think).
  • Tell one person about a local place you love—especially a new family in town.

Tell Me Your Story

I want this newsletter to feel like it belongs to you—because it does. If you have a reader story (a moment of kindness, a local hero, a small business win, a hard season you’re navigating, or a place in Warrensburg that feels like home), email me. I read every message.
