The Small Days Become the Big Memories
As parents, we put so much pressure on ourselves to create magical childhoods.
We think memories have to come from expensive vacations, elaborate birthday parties, or perfectly planned experiences.
But last weekend reminded me how often the moments our kids treasure most are the simplest ones.
A local car show.
Sticky fingers from concession snacks.
Running from vehicle to vehicle with complete wonder in their eyes.
Listening to my boys squeal every time they spotted another “cool one” made me stop and realize something:
To them, this wasn’t just a Saturday errand or local event.
It was magic.
And that’s the thing about childhood...
Kids don’t measure memories by how expensive or extravagant they are.
They remember how something felt.
Who was there.
How much fun they had.
How safe and loved they felt in the middle of it all.
Sometimes the smallest local moments become the ones they talk about for years.
