To officially enter “small-town summer mode,” you will likely need:
- At least one farmers market stroll
- A pair of kids’ shoes mysteriously left outside overnight
- One sunburn line you forgot to sunscreen evenly
- Popsicles stocked at all times
- Local event screenshots filling your camera roll
- A backup plan for rainy days
- And enough snacks to feed what appears to be seventeen children
Summer doesn’t need to be perfectly curated to be meaningful.
Sometimes all kids really need is time, freedom, sunshine, and parents willing to say yes to the little moments.
