Sedalia's Hidden Date Night Gem: Volker's Eatery + Pub

We made a mistake.

A delicious mistake.

And honestly?

I'd do it again.

.....At least not unless you're feeding a small army.

Saturday night was date night.

First of all, a huge thank you to the incredible people willing to spend an evening with our boys so Brett and I can occasionally remember what uninterrupted conversations feel like.

Parents know how valuable that gift really is.

We decided to try Volker's Eatery + Pub in Sedalia.

And within about fifteen minutes, we knew we'd be back.

The atmosphere was relaxed.

Comfortable.

Unpretentious.

Exactly the kind of place where you can show up in jeans and feel completely at home.

Then the Loaded Kettles arrived.

Calling them an appetizer feels wildly inaccurate.

What appeared was an entire pizza-style serving tray overflowing with fresh kettle chips covered in toppings.

Every single bite was loaded.

Every single bite was delicious.

And somehow that wasn't even the highlight.

The pretzel sticks and beer cheese?

Fantastic.

The burgers?

Packed with flavor.

The wraps?

Equally impressive.

Even the Mai Tai earned immediate approval.

Volker's felt like the second category.

Not because it was fancy.

Because it was memorable.

The service was excellent.

The portions were generous.

And every item felt thoughtfully prepared.

By the end of the meal, we were completely full.

Naturally, we stopped for ice cream afterward.

Because date-night calories don't count.

That's the rule.

I'm pretty sure it's official.

If you're looking for a casual date night, a family dinner, or simply a reason to visit Sedalia, Volker's deserves a spot on your list.
