KELSEY'S CORNER

I Hope They Remember How It Felt ❤️

I wonder sometimes what my boys will remember about being little.

Will they remember the places we went? The activities we planned? The things I spent entirely too much time trying to make perfect?

Or will it be something completely random?

A funny conversation. A favorite snack. The time we laughed so hard nobody could finish a sentence.

I think more than anything, I hope they remember how childhood felt.

I hope they remember feeling safe enough to be themselves.

That they could be excited about something nobody else understood. That they could have hard days without feeling like they were difficult children.

That home was a place where they could take off the expectations of the outside world and simply exist.

I want them to experience new things, absolutely. But I also want them to know they never had to earn belonging by being the easiest kid in the room.

I hope they remember being understood, even when it took some figuring out.

And I hope they remember that the little things mattered to me because they mattered to them.

I'm sure I won't get everything right. There will be rushed mornings, forgotten things and days when patience is running dangerously low.

But maybe a beautiful childhood isn't built by getting every day right.

Maybe it's built by showing up, listening, learning and loving them through all of it.

If that's what they carry with them, I think we'll have made some pretty wonderful memories. ❤️
